The Opportunity

As the Senior Business Analyst for Property Portfolio - Leasehold Finance you will be a key commercial partner to the Woolworths Leasehold Property team. You will not only provide rigorous financial analysis and decision support but also play an integral role in shaping the long-term strategy for our new  and existing store network across all Woolworths Group Brands.

You will be responsible for supporting the Leasehold Property team nationally with strategic insights, decision support and tracking of performance. 


What you’ll do

  • Commercial Partnering & Advisory
    • Strategic Advisory: Act as a key Finance partner to the Leasehold Property team, providing commercial advice and challenging assumptions to drive better business outcomes.
    • Negotiation Support: Deliver high-impact financial support for landlord negotiations, including new and existing store deals, and analysis of developer trends.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside Finance, Strategy, and Supermarket teams to align property decisions with broader business goals.
  • Strategy & Insights
    • Growth Strategy: Support the development of long-term property strategies by analyzing market shifts and competitor moves to identify opportunities and risks.
    • Performance Tracking: Provide the national team with strategic insights and rigorous tracking of portfolio performance (Occupancy, New stores, refurbishment etc), 
  • Analysis & Reporting
    • Data: Advance the performance reporting suite for Leasehold Property through the development of intuitive dashboards and data tools.
    • Financial Analysis: Provide ad hoc decision support for Corporate and other Woolworths Group brands (Big W, Petstock etc)


What you’ll bring

  • Experience: At least 5 years in commercial finance, strategy, or a related field.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in property, retail, or a large corporate environment is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability in strategic problem-solving, project management, and change management.
  • Communication: Superb written, oral, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence all levels of the organisation.
  • Financial Modelling: Experience in developing financial models and preparing investment business cases is essential, with robust modeling skills being desired.
  • Qualifications: A CA/CPA or an equivalent qualification is highly regarded.
