The Opportunity
At Woolworths, we believe in putting our customers and team first. This role sits within the Group Platforms Risk portfolio which has risk partner role for Finance, People and Sustainability business units and Group Compliance. Group Platforms Risk sits within the Group Risk Platform.
The Lead Partner, Group Compliance role will contribute to the delivery of the Group Risk ambition of: Helping Woolworths to be confident today and ready for tomorrow.
The Lead Partner, Group Compliance role will lead Group Compliance, Line 2 function for Woolworths Group. We are refreshing Group Compliance to bring greater value for the Group. In this context, you will lead your team to scope, design and deliver the annual Line 2 Group Compliance plan. Your annual plan will consider and complement the decentralised compliance model at Woolworths Group in which compliance activities are led by each BU, supported by Group Legal and where relevant supported by specialist Line 1 compliance teams for key areas such safety (people, food and product), privacy, cyber, etc.
What you’ll do
- Implement and refine a Line 2 compliance model: Apply the 3 lines of defense and develop a fit-for-purpose Group Compliance Line 2 model.
- Establish and execute the Group Compliance annual work program.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive compliance reporting: Create a reporting package for the Group Exco and Board.
- Review and update Group Compliance policies and frameworks: Ensure relevant Group policies, frameworks, and tools are current.
- Foster strong stakeholder relationships and influence compliance practices: Build relationships with key stakeholders and drive adoption of better practices.
- Lead compliance initiatives and develop team capabilities: Facilitate knowledge sharing, build Line 1 capabilities, and provide coaching and development.
- Conduct and oversee regular compliance risks assessments: Identify, evaluate and prioritise compliance risks across the organisation.
- Leverage technology and data analytics: Enhance compliance monitoring, reporting and risk assessment.
What you’ll bring
- Proven Line 2 Compliance Expertise: Possesses significant experience in second-line compliance functions.
- Effective Leadership and Stakeholder Influence: Demonstrates strong leadership to motivate teams and excels in horizontal leadership and stakeholder engagement.
- Strategic Problem Solving and Execution: Exhibits strong problem-solving skills, solution design, and the ability to plan, prioritize, and execute effectively.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Strategic and Commercial Acumen: Displays strategic thinking, commercial awareness, and a customer-centric, end-to-end perspective.
- Adaptable and Proactive Mindset: Possesses an agile and growth mindset, with the ability to lead with minimal direction and drive change.
