What you’ll do 

  • Take full ownership of the end-to-end design, strategic planning and cost management of the Ambient/GM transport network
  • Develop and implement a safe, scalable and integrated multi-modal (Road & Rail) transport strategy that adds value to customers
  • Use data and analytics to identify and eliminate network inefficiencies, reduce costs and improve service levels
  • Cultivate and manage strategic, long-term relationships with key transport carriers and hub partners
  • Act as the senior transport SME, collaborating with business development to design bespoke, commercially viable and operationally sound transport solutions for new and existing customers
  • Lead, develop and retain a high performing transport network solutions team, championing a customer-centric culture and driving capability development and career pathways


What you’ll bring 

  • 10+ years experience in a senior transport, logistics or supply chain strategy role, preferably within a large-scale FMCG, Retail or 3PL environment
  • Deep technical knowledge of national road and rail transport operations, including legislation, heavy vehicle regulations and complex pricing/costing methodologies.
  • Demonstrable experience designing, implementing and managing large scale complex transport networks
  • Proven track record in strategic carrier management, procurement and high-stakes negotiation
  • Exceptional commercial and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data to drive decision-making
