With a culture of genuine care, a flexible approach to work, and opportunities across the group to grow your career and make a meaningful impact, the possibilities for what we can achieve together are endless.

What you’ll do

This is a pivotal, hands on leadership role where you will act as the primary strategic advisor to the PFD and Petstock leadership teams. Operating within a fast paced, high growth environment, you will be accountable for defining the long term strategic direction, driving high impact value creation programs and translating complex commercial insights into tangible business growth.

  • Define and Drive the Value Creation Agenda: Partner directly with the PFD and Petstock leadership teams to shape, pressure test and execute their long term strategic plans and highest priority value creation initiatives.
  • Oversee Critical Strategic Planning Cycles: Own the end to end Annual Operating Plan and multi year strategic planning processes, ensuring robust alignment with Group level financial and growth ambitions.
  • Lead High Impact Strategic Programs: Identify, scope and develop the business cases for the most impactful strategic programs, managing a portfolio of initiatives from initial concept through to defining the delivery approach.
  • Provide Deep Commercial Acumen: Conduct sophisticated market and competitor analysis, delivering commercial insights ‘at a glance’ to diagnose value drivers, identify emerging growth opportunities and mitigate potential market threats.
  • Be the Key Strategic Partner and Navigator: Act as the primary strategic advisor to senior stakeholders, successfully navigating less bureaucratic, relationship based environments to ensure strategies translate quickly into high paced and pragmatic action.
  • Lead and Mentor a High Performing Team: Manage, coach, and develop a small team of high calibre Strategy Managers (including former top tier consultants) while actively contributing to the broader Group Strategy community.

What you’ll bring

You are an exceptional strategic leader with a minimum of 7 years of top tier strategy consulting or equivalent corporate experience. You possess a combination of intellectual rigour, deep commercial and financial acumen and the pragmatic, hands on ability to drive change in fast moving business environments.

  • Strong Strategic and Commercial Acumen: A robust ‘strategy toolkit’ and an exceptional ability to quickly diagnose complex business challenges, link strategic initiatives directly to financial outcomes and identify core value drivers across an entire enterprise.
  • Proven Partnering and Influencing Skills: Demonstrated success in building trusted, relationship based partnerships, with the confidence to influence and advise senior executives (Group Executive level) in fast paced, less structured settings like PFD and Petstock.
  • Deep Value Creation Expertise: Extensive, proven experience in defining, championing and successfully delivering high impact value creation plans and large scale change management initiatives.
  • Advanced Financial and Pragmatic Execution: Expert skills in financial modeling and analysis, coupled with a highly organized, hands on and pragmatic approach essential for managing multiple parallel workstreams and driving tangible delivery.
  • Exceptional Leadership & Development: Proven ability to lead, coach and develop high performing team members, including individuals from top tier consulting firms, fostering a culture of excellence and strategic contribution.
  • Relevant Sector Experience: Direct experience and knowledge of the retail or consumer market landscape

What' you’ll experience

  • A progressive and flexible ‘Work from Anywhere’ policy that gives you more control over your work, life and wellbeing with 2 days work from home per week
  • A global business with endless career possibilities around every corner and across every discipline – with valuable exposure to a vast and exciting business network
  • Team discounts across our range of Woolworths Group brands you know and love and a robust rewards program that celebrates and incentivises purpose-driven work
