The Opportunity

As the Delivery Lead for Finance Systems Transformation, you will join the leadership team of a high profile, trans Tasman program designed to modernise our financial landscape. This is a pivotal role acting as the bridge between Finance and Group Technology, where you will drive the delivery of a complex, multi stream roadmap including transformation of S/4HANA transformation; data, reporting and analytics; investments; allocations; and process & controls optimisation. You will lead a high performing team of approximately 10 professionals, overseeing program governance, budget management and change strategy to ensure we deliver on our business case commitments. We are looking for a consultative, self-starting leader with over 10 years of experience in large scale ERP transformations who thrives on solving complex problems and influencing senior executives to shape the future of finance at Woolworths Group.

What you’ll do

  • Drive End to End Program Delivery: Oversee the execution of the multi stream Finance Systems Transformation roadmap, ensuring the delivery of multiple workstreams including S/4HANA transformation; data, reporting and analytics; investments; allocations; and process & controls optimisation on time and within budget.
  • Lead and Inspire a High Performing Team: Manage a team of approximately 10 direct and indirect reports, fostering a collaborative environment that leverages internal expertise and external consultants to meet the program's strategic goals.
  • Govern and Manage Integrated Plans: Maintain a comprehensive integrated plan that identifies interdependencies and risks while providing rigorous oversight of the program budget, resource allocation and timeline delivery of milestones.
  • Partner with Senior Stakeholders: Act as a key advisor to the Steering Committee, CFO and CIO, influencing decision making and providing transparent recommendations on scope, ROI and business readiness.
  • Champion Change and Capability: Collaborate with the Change Management team to execute a robust strategy for business readiness, training and communication, ensuring a seamless transition for the broader Finance team.
  • Establish Sustainable Governance: Design and implement a long term governance and knowledge management framework to ensure the value of the FST investment is sustained far beyond the initial implementation.

What you’ll bring

  • Extensive Transformation Experience: At least 10 years of program management experience, specifically leading large scale, multi stream technology transformations with a strong preference for complex Finance ERP implementations (preferably SAP S/4HANA).
  • Strategic Stakeholder Management: A proven ability to navigate a complex corporate environment, influencing and negotiating with senior executives (CFO, CIO and Board members) to balance risks and opportunities.
  • Robust Delivery Frameworks: Deep expertise in developing and implementing program governance, integrated roadmaps, and RAIDD management within a high pressure, large scale retail or similar organization.
  • Leadership & People Management: A track record of leading high performing, multi disciplinary teams (including direct and indirect reports) to deliver collective success while uplifting internal capability.
  • Change & Knowledge Management: Experience leading change strategies, business readiness and knowledge management frameworks to ensure the long term sustainability of system investments.
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, IT or a related field, complemented by a recognized Program Management Certification.
