The Group Data Management(GDM) team forms a central function tasked with implementing robust data management across the Woolworths Group. This role is highly visible and you will be influential in the transformation of how Woolworths designs, and implements data quality methodology and tooling to drive value from data.
What you’ll do
You will support the implementation of our data management framework and controls across all Woolworths business units. Build and maintain strong relationships while engaging with multiple business groups. You will leverage your ability to support diverse stakeholder groups, effectively managing their data management requirements, and contributing to our goal of ensuring safe and trusted data.
Assist in designing, implementing and maintaining an overall data risk management process, and effective measurements and controls.Continue to build and develop Woolworths group data standards, policies and procedures.
Support the business in their understanding of data risk, statutory, and management reporting requirements specific to the data risk management.
Prepare and deliver reviews to the management team regarding emerging risks, status of risk assessments, and control performance.
Apply the group data management and governance framework within a specific business unit.
Perform active stewardship through engaging with business and technical teams to ensure data is well documented, understood and continue to drive value.
Organise and conduct workshops to track, help resolve issues impacting business and technical stakeholders.
Facilitate and implement enhancements to the documentation of data risk and control environment.
Support internal audit engagements and remediation, ensuring timely response and delivery.
Develop data strategy and policy documents to support operational execution of data management programs.
Identify gaps and conflicts in data management policy and governance guidance and make recommendations to address these areas.
What you’ll bring
You bring experience across data management or data risk with good working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence policies and tools such as Collibra and Ataccama.
Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Risk, Data Management or equivalent
8+ years experience working in data risk and/or data management roles.
Minimum of 5 years of data management and policy related experience is required.
Experience in developing and maintaining best practice process and data solutions.
Proven experience in building and maintaining strong collaborative working relationships.
An ability to communicate complex information in a simple and consumable way
Very good written and briefing skills to appropriately communicate with data management strategy and policies to leadership and individual managers.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle, prioritise multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
