The Opportunity
The Business Analyst - Pantry is a key commercial role supporting the Buying and Merchandising team across Pantry Essentials and Pantry Meal Occasions. This role forms part of the Supermarkets commercial team and partners strongly with the Commercial Buying and Merchandise Team.


What you’ll do

  • Pantry Financial Performance: Leads analysis of Pantry's financials, including market drivers.
  • Category & Merchandise Collaboration: Provides insightful analysis and commentary -by working with Category Managers and Merchandise Manager on key drivers of performance..
  • Business Partner Insights: Delivers proactive trend analysis and deep dives to Business Partners and supports development of action plan in relation to adverse trends.
  • Commercial Team Forecasting: Supports Commercial team's sales and GP forecasting.
  • Promotional Risk Management: Conduct analysis on promotional effectiveness and manages promotional risks within forecasts.
  • Commercial, Pricing & Strategy Partnership: Supports strategic initiatives with the Commercial, Pricing, and Strategy teams.


What you’ll bring

  • CA/CPA qualification
  • Proven business partnering skills with a strong desire to add commercial value through analysis, problem solving skills and prioritisation of business requirements
  • Capable of simplifying and communicating complex financial information to diverse audiences, with strong presentation and storyboarding skills
  • Advanced experience using financial systems in a commercial environment e.g. Excel, Powerpoint, SAP, and GCP. Experience in multinational FMCG experience and national retail will be highly desirable
  • Experience in modeling trading terms, price strategy and promotion effectiveness
  • Good appreciation of category management principles
